Arrived here with a friend because the queue was ridiculous at Shotgun Willies across the road and ordered a whisky old fashioned. This drink can taste completely different depending on the experience and attitude of the staff making the cocktail which is why I always order this drink first when testing out a new premises. This guy blew me away. The care he put into that drink was out of this world. Once he placed it on the bar I already knew it would be good and it was! I settled in and stayed for a few more. Great place and excellent staff. Will order some food next visit. My only gripe (and its a very, very small one) was that the cigar collection, whilst superb, was a touch pricey. Maybe if you could include some lower end priced cigars in the collection?

Hains & Co is such a great spot. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a really unique character that makes it stand out from other bars. It feels cosy but still has plenty of energy, and the outdoor seating adds to the charm. The cocktails are absolutely top-notch. You can tell the bartenders really know what they’re doing — every drink I had was balanced, fresh, and beautifully made. The gin and tonic with rosemary was a highlight, simple but done so well. What I really loved was the service. The staff are friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Even when the bar was busy, they still took the time to chat and make sure everything was perfect. That kind of hospitality makes a big difference. Overall, it’s the kind of place you can easily settle into for the night and just enjoy yourself. Great drinks, great people, and a great vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

I recently attended a company quarterly event at Hains & Co and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was exemplary and beautifully presented, and the ambiance of the venue created the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the event. The drinks selection was excellent, and paired with the great food it made for a wonderful night. Between the good drinks, great food, and plenty of lively conversation and laughter, it turned into a truly memorable evening. Highly recommend Hains & Co for social gatherings and events!

Legends behind the bar were fun and a pleasure to yap to and order from. We convinced them to try on our glasses too - 10/10! Cigars were great too despite the backwards incident…

Hains&co recently played host to our wedding after party and I cannot recommend them highly enough if you are planning an event in the future (or just want to grab a drink at one of Adelaide’s best bars). From ease of planning through regular email communication, to flexibility with timings and setting up, Marissa made the whole process so easy and stress-free. They were also incredibly generous allowing us to come to the venue earlier for some photos in the upstairs even when they were setting up for another event there. Throughout the evening Marissa, Marcus and the whole team truly made our party feel very welcome, the bar service was quick and all staff so friendly and personable. Thanks again for everything, it was so appreciated!

What an amazing nautical hideaway! Came here for our collective 40th birthday year. The cigars and whisky were awesome. Maddy looked after us, she's a cocktail genius - warm, skilled, and gives absolutely 5-star service. Go see her!

Had my first cocktail in Adelaide here and what a great start to my trip. The mixologists know what they’re doing here! I came solo and sat at the bar only to get invited to join some locals who I carried on the rest of the night with. Quite a magical place!

Yeh nah who ever designed this place is an absolute visionary. Full of interesting accoutrements, there’s lots happening but it’s all a delight to the senses. The lighting has been carefully crafted to resemble a depth of dreamlike states, as if out of the movie Inception, with a bathtub hanging from the ceiling! The combination of elements, colours and themes and all the subtle touches really harmonise the flow of energy. There’s a significant array of cocktails and beverages to choose from and a cabinet full of expensive cigars. Quality comfort seating indoors, it’s the perfect place for a low key rendezvous outside peak hour. Gas heaters and plenty of stools and tables outside, this joint is capable of handling a decent overflow on a busy night, but I’d get in early to secure a booth. Might want to consider making a reservation just to be sure.

Ok, so this place is one of the best cocktail service bars I've been to. The staff are absolutely amazing at their craft. The drinks are TOP shelf! The selection of cigars are excellent, the patrons are diverse and have good will toward everyone and there is a general vibe of really good times. Very inclusive, highly recommend this venue for a night out with good mates.
